We assume responsibility along the supply chain and strive for a trusting and long-term relationship with our business partners that is characterised by fairness, reliability and mutual support.
As an internationally active company, billerbeck takes social, environmental and animal welfare requirements into account throughout its supply and value chains. Defined requirements relating to quality, origin and working conditions apply to the sourcing and processing of raw materials and other materials. For materials of animal origin, additional requirements concerning animal welfare and traceability are taken into account. Appropriate standards, certifications or supporting documentation are available for all products. The specific requirements and evidence applicable to each product are stated at product level.

Certified down supply chain
- All down and feathers used are certified and guaranteed traceable back to the egg.
- Only feathers from animals slaughtered for the food industry are used, so there’s no live plucking.
- Species-appropriate farming of the animals, rearing without force feeding.
billerbeck Group’ amfori BSCI membership
The entire billerbeck Group is registered as a member of the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). Members make a commitment to support and promote the amfori BSCI and its general objectives. In particular, they commit to auditing their suppliers and to integrating them into the compliance programme (programme for social standards).
The amfori BSCI is a business-driven platform for improving social compliance in the global value chain and offers companies a comprehensive monitoring and qualification system for all products. This paves the way for them to effectively and systematically improve working conditions worldwide.
In addition to health and safety in the workplace, the requirements of the amfori BSCI include a ban on child and forced labour, regulated working hours and compliance with minimum environmental requirements.
billerbeck Code of Conduct for Suppliers
In addition, the strict guidelines of the billerbeck Code of Conduct form the basis for all business relationships with our suppliers with regard to social standards and working conditions for national and international production processes and sites.
This ensures internationally recognised standards that are in line with, among others, the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), the conventions of the International Labour Organisation, the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Conventions on the Rights of the Child and on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the principles of the UN Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the Code of the European Down & Feather Association (EDFA).
